How to modify MSysIMEXSpecs records?

I'm doing the transfertext method, which works great. What I want to do is strip out the commas. I have created an export specification and can view the comma in the FieldSeperator field but cannot change it (or delete). Any ideas? I've read that you can do it through SQL append but don't know how to do this.

The append query would add a new field at the end of the existing record layout.

To change the comma, use an update query. Create a new query don 't add any table, switch to SQL view and paste the following.

Update MSysIMEXSpecs Set FieldSeparator='|' Where SpecID=5;

Use what ever FieldSeparator and give the number of SpecID you need to update.
