Hi,

I have 2 Access databases called db1 and db2

db1 -> Inventory has 1200 records -> same data type and fields as Inventory in db2
db2 -> Inventory has 1000 records

I want to merge the db2 inventory table into db1 inventory by comparing and deleting the duplicate records.

Is it possible using a wizard? If not can that be accomplished with query

In other words I just want to import the data not the table.

Any body please help,
nubee

You may play with a linked table.

Hope This Helps, PH.

As PHV says, from one database, link to the table in the second database, and then use an APPEND query.

Heck, you probably may be able to use cut and paste.

It might be a little more involved than that, since nubees does not seem very familiar with databases.

It would depend on the definition of 'duplicate' and whether the tables have proper primary keys to prevent the entry of duplicates according to the correct definition.

Thanks you all for your input, sorry I couldnot get back soon enough.
By using all your suggestions , I was able to solve the problem.

I had some problems using Append query so I used cut and paste. I will run a duplicate query for duplicates

Thanks again
