Trying to merge an Access DB in Word. The Word document consists of 4 separate records per page. I have been unsuccessful of capturing 4 records per page. I have been only able to capture 1 record per page; that record is repeated 4 times per page.

I had been trying to use field codes to eliminate this problem. I have attempted to use the field code SkipIf with Field code SEQ.

1. I thought maybe to sequence records.

2. Then write expressions with the field codes. ie..
{Seq SkipIf {Seq-1} = {SEQ (current sequence)}.

Please advise on the proper syntex or advise if there is another way to bring in 4 separate records per page that is more practical.

Thank YOu.

If you need the SAME 4 records on that page, you should be able to just repeat the info from record one and paste it 3 more times.

If you see "next record" anywhere on the page as one of the merge fields, get rid of it--you don't want the next record, and you shouldn't need to insert it. If you need help, see if you can send me some sample data in a database and the layout of your ONE record. To make sure I understand, you want the first record to appear 4 times on page 1, then the second record 4 times on page 2, etc.

If I am reading your problem correctly, you want to have 4 separate records appearing on a single page in Word (rather than the same record 4 times). To do this, use the {NEXT} field before the merge fields you want to insert in your document. You can add the {NEXT} field by selecting "Next Record" from the "Insert Word Field" button on the Mail Merge toolbar.

Thank You! Geek.

Did the trick. I was making it much too complicated.

Very grateful. J
