Is there a command or method available which would allow me to measure the amount of data passed between a solaris web server and an AIX database server in a given timeframe?

You can always use iptrace or tcpdump and set a filter on the source and destination host.

For detailed output i would agree with ciman but you can always use netstat for an overview!

man netstat

Khalid
