I'm fairly new with solaris (much more comfortable with hpux). When provisioning a lun to a Solaris 9 box, it generates a ctd number to represent it. I'd like to see the long wwn format for the disk names instead (like I see on a few other boxes we have). I need to be able to map system luns back to the array.

Thanks!

I suspect this is a function of the driver being used. At work we use Emulex HBAs and until recently used the Emulex lpfc drivers (they generated c?t?d?s? special device files). When we switched to using a different SAN we decided to use the 'emlxs' drivers that are built in to the Solaris 10 operating system, instead. They generate c?t<wwn>d?s? special device files.

I hope that helps.

Mike
