How to manipulate database in VB

hi,
I'm new in VB but have already some knowledged with it particularly in creating and designing forms. But when it come in maniputaling databases i don't have any idea.
Could you give some idea or command on how to open And Manipulate MS ACCESS and SQL DAtabases. and what is the sequence in opening a database.
