I have a print server ( Windows Nt 4.0 server ) with some 12 shared printers configured on it.Due to h/w issues have to take the server off-line and run diagnostics on it.
My question is how do i migrate all my printer setting on to another windows nt 4.0 server so as to make it transperent to the end user??

other than resetting up the queues on the other NT4 server and having the users change there printers there is not much of a way to make it transparent.

You could rename the temp server to the name of the production print server but this is not usually a good idea unless it is a permanent change. WINS really does not like this.

You could also try to work on the server when users are not present and this would keep you from having to support them while try to update the server.

The limitation to this is if production runs 24x7 like we do and then you just have to work around this Thanks
