How to make VoIP router work with a wireless laptop ?

I have a laptop in my house basement which is connected to internet through wireless internet.
I wanted to use the VoIP phone in the basement, without hardwiring the router from my 2nd floor ROUTER, I wanted to
know if there is way I cannot the VoIP router to internet with the wireless laptop which is already in my basement.
