We have converted FPW2.6a application to VFP6 using functional conversion and made some changed to make it run. The application is running on Windows 2000 Server but its very slow, we tried on a local standalone Pc its still slow.

Windows 2000 server is P4, 512Mb Memory, 80GB HDD, no of users accessing this application : 8 local users.

Total number of database around 20, maximum sizr of the database is 200MB.

When user open any option within the applcation it takes longer time.

Please advise how can we make it faster or need any configuration file.

Thanks for your help

Check out SYS(3050) to tune memory. That may help.

What would help most, I suspect, though, is not running converted forms. The process that converts FP2.x forms to VFP forms adds a lot of overhead. Recreating your forms as real VFP forms would probably help a lot.

Add more memory. 512M is, IMO, the minimum needed just for the OS.

But there could be more to it than that too. The application design may not be optimized. Make sure you are taking full advantage of Rushmore.
