I use two modems for simultaneous voice and data transmission. I need to establish voice+data connection while a voice connexion is already established. To do that I send ATD to the calling modem, then I send ATA to the called modem, then the connexion is established.
With modems set in European modes (country code), the called operator can hear beeps in modem's speaker after ATD has been sent, thus the called operator knows when he can answer.
My problem is with modems set in US mode, the beeps are not heard.
Why are these beeps not generated by US modems ?
Is there a way for the calling modem to generate these beeps ?
Modems I use are LASAT Safire I 560 Voice, Model LC-1891
