How to make the most out of dial up connections

I live in Pakistan. Where as yet high speed internet is not available for very body. The most convenient surfing option is dial up internet. How can I make the most of a low speed internet connection? Plz refer applications or techniques to make surfing easier.

I Used a Analog Router for years, joining 3 phone lines into one connection. Speeds up the web, but not downloads.

Webramp M3, 200 and 300 series were analog routers.
