How to make text fly thru Javascript 1

Hi,
I want to make a stream of text to fly all over the screen by clicking a button.Like "Welcome to My Homepage.."
Can anyone suggest me as how to do this.I think this can be done by writing java script.If anyone knows about it then please do tell me and also if you can give sample code,i will be very much thankful to you guys
