Hi all,

I'am using Crystal Reports XI.
I have a subreport in the page footer. The problem is that the page footer will not expand when the subreport does. So only a few records will be shown when I run the report.

One solution I tried was making the page footer section big. When I run the report with it like this it works, but when there are no records in the subreport the page footer section is still big. I checked suppress blank section but this does nothing. Also the subreport is set to "can grow". So I'm assuming that page footers can't grow dynamically with their content.

I need the subreport show up on every page.

Does anyone know how to get around this problem?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi,
Is there a particular need for it to be in the page footer?
try using a second detail and place it there, maybe.

thanks before.

Subreports are set to can grow by default. However subreports grow vertically not horizontally.

If this has indeed been turned off, right click the subreport and select format subreport. Go to the general tab and click the Can Grow button.

The page footer is a unique section and its depth has to be fixed so that CR knows how much room is available for other growing objects on the page. So the page footer cannot grow, and cannot be surpressed when blank.
