Hi

I'm making a vector line drawing of a building. It's a flat front-on projection, but the roof's puzzling me; It needs to be filled with tiles, then given some perspective treatment. I've tried all sorts of methods with patterns and brushes but nothings working. Any suggestions please?

...it would be handy if you can post a link to an image of your building to get a better idea of what you are trying to achieve...

Thanks for your interest, but I think I've cracked it.

I made one tile, replicated a row of them (Transform>Each), then replicated about 20 rows. I then used the direct selection tool to distort (to give perspective) and finished up with a roof-shaped clipping mask.

...very good work, looks good, large property too...

Thanks. Yes, house is magnificent - a genuine traditional 18th century Norfolk farmhouse in Grand Style.

The line drawing is for print material (brochures etc) but I'm using it as a background on the website too -
