I have set one of the item in my drop down list to readonly="readonly", works fine in FireFox, but Not in IE. How can I make it work in Internet Explorer? Please advise, thanks!

I suggest you read up on read only vs disabled. You want to add the disabled property for a select list. I don't think a read only select list makes to much sense anyway.
Heres a nice article I googled for you.
According to it. Readonly should be applied to input and text area. Disabled should be used on button, input,
optgroup, option, select, textarea. The article also goes into the subtle difference between the two its a good read.

I don't know the answer but my good friend Google does.
