I don't have version 8.5, I have version 10 but will it allow you to do an INSERT, PICTURE, and then once the picture is there right click on the picture and select MOVE, BACK. Version 10 allows this. hope this helps! *
Drag the boundary of a page header section so that it matches the displayed page in length, and insert the picture in the page header. Then go to the section expert->page header->check "underlay following sections".
for default crystal report the paper is blank (do notr have background . i have do like lbass say but it only work on page header only. i want my backround is not blank anymore but all my background change with one picture. sorry for my bad english
I just tested this, and it worked. The group and detail sections were overlaid on the picture. Did you format the page header to "Underlay following sections"? Did you resize the page header so that it was page length?
And it doesn't matter if the other sections move down, it doesn't change their size.
What would you expect to happen to those sections below, that they remain where they are? You need to be a bit bolder and try what is suggested and if there are problems, state what they are, your questions are those of someone unwilling to test, so you'll never get anything done.
You do need to run the report before you'll see the results, so in that respect you'll need to connect to the database first, which is always the case with Crystal, you need data to display a report.
You must also set the page header to "underlay following sections" in the section expert. In design mode, the detail section will look like it's moved down, but in preview mode the details will appear on top of the page header image.
thank because i'm stupid you mus take a long time to teach me . i'm sorry. at least i can do like yours sai ang success. but my border can not seen . because it in back of the picture. how to make my border seen in front of bac kground
What do you mean by border? A border around a field would appear on top of the picture. If you have added lines (insert->line), then try inserting a text box instead of the lines, using one of the borders of the box to create your line. These new lines should appear on top of the picture.
The solutions is within each helper, maybe we can teach you by handling it in little steps (my english is not so great eather, maybe it helps
1) in crystal reports go to the menu insert-->picture and search the picture you want to set for the background
2) after you found the picture click on the [open] button
3) the picture is attached to your mouse-cursor and can so it can be placed anywhere in the report (place it like lbass said in the page header)
4) between the page header and de details or group section there is a line, put the mouse-cursor on this line till it becomes an arrow-up and arrow-down
5) then click it and hold it to be able to grow the header section
So far, so good...this far you already went of course
6) at page header level, click on the left (grey) side with the right mouse button and go in the menu to [format section]
7) in the format section, the last option is indeed [ ] underlay following section
8) mark this [ ] box
Sofar, so good, the picture is in place, and the underlay following section will work
9) selecting the picture and click (right-mouse)
10) select [format graphic]
11) select [border]
12) if you want select for the sides if they need a border or not
If you already went this far and it is not what you were looking for, then it is perhaps better to explain in little steps the problem you are facing..
