How to make my computer as a ftp server

u basically need to run an FTP server.. but this depends on what OS u are running... if u r running UNIX or Linux, they come with pre-installed FTP servers.. all u would need to do is enable the service in the setup...
i am not sure about Windows 2000 Server.. but my guess if it doesn't have an integrated FTP server, u would simply have to install a third party FTP service.. i am sure these are available on the web, or for purchase....
