How to make hair grow curly in AE?

Is there an effect or an expression to make hair grow or to grow curly? If so, how can it be done?

You could paint it, then animate the brush stroke.

There are a bunch of little things that might help, but my advice is to play around with some distortion filters.

does anyone know how to makes transparent fades on an existing images. let's say i want to make it fade in from left to right and come in almost like the whole drawing hair effect... anybody?

Your message might not be seen unless it's in its own thread.

SOUNDS like you're looking for a transition effect. A simple WIPE will give you what you want.

1. DRAW GRADIENT HAIR (BLACK ON ONE SIDE, WHITE OTHER)

2. USE GRADIENT WIPE to make the image "come in like hair through the wipe"
