Try PKlite. The registered version double-compresses and encrypts *.EXEs and *.DLLs.

I wouldn't recommend it if I didn't use it.

This excellent product is offered by the familiar folk at PKware (authors of PKzip, etc.)

William,

I wasn't aware that you *could* get back to the VB code from a .exe [sig]<p>Mike<br><a href=mailto:michael.j.lacey@ntlworld.com>michael.j.lacey@ntlworld.com</a><br><a href= Cargill's Corporate Web Site</a><br>Making mistakes, so you don't have to. &lt;grin&gt;[/sig]

Mike, he's refering to VB4 and below, all those VB versions had the code in the exe, that was still interpreted in a manner that the IDE interpreted it, VB5 and VB6 are now partiltly native, basically meaning that the codes are least compiled into DLL calls to the runtime. but it wouldnt be that hard to least reverse engineer it, but it certainly harder than downloading some decompiler, that could even recreat your project file (in some cases) [sig]<p>Karl<br><a href=mailto:kb244@kb244.com>kb244@kb244.com</a><br><a href= </a><br>Experienced in : C++(both VC++ and Borland),VB1(dos) thru VB6, Delphi 3 pro, HTML, Visual InterDev 6(ASP(WebProgramming/Vbscript)<br>

There is a discussion of executable file compression at thread222-25600 (regarding software found at It might be worth a try if you are worried about somebody decompiling your applications.

Just a shot of warning tho, some Compressor+Encrypter can cause your anti-virus software to go bezerk when trying to analyze an exe being executed.
