Hi there, I want to make a gradient that occurs between two colours, e.g to different shades of blue. Although whenever I try to to make the gradient fill do this, it keeps reverting back to black and white, or rainbow or whatever. It is extremelly frustrating, I have illustrator CS2, could anyone out there please give me a step by step guide to producing a gradient within the colour bounds of my choosing...

It would be hugely appreciated, thanks...

Hey William,

Annoying isn't it! I had this same issue and think I might have posted here as well.
[ul]
[li]Start with an object, we'll say a square.[/li]

[li]Go to the gradient tab and select Linear. Let's assume it comes up black and white.[/li]

[li]Just under the dropdown where you selected Linear, there's a gradient range that (assuming it's black and white) goes from white to black. Below it there are sliding markers at either end.[/li]

[li]Select one of them. You'll notice the little (very small) triangle on top of the slider turns black. Once you have it selected, hold down ALT and pick another color for your palette.[/li]

[li]Do the same thing with the other side.[/li]
[/ul]
Hope that helps...

Micah
