When I make a change to my master page, let's say, I make a text box bigger in my master page. Now, if I have fiddled with the text box on my regular document page, will the master page change "not" take effect on the regular document page?
For instance, I have a text box in my newsletter. I set it up on a master page because it will apply to all pages. I get to the document page, and decide that I want that particular text box bigger. I'm assuming I go back into the master page and make the change on the text box, and then, it will update all the pages that were based on that master page. So, if I make a particular change on a document page, and I'm messing with a text box on the document page that is based on the master page, that particular text box will change locally, and overright the text box that was put there from the master page.
This is SO hard to explain here.

Any changes you make to the master page will be applied to each existing page. However, if you alter elements on an individual page, the master page instructions cease to apply to those elements. In your Document Layout Palette, drag the Master Page icon on to the altered page and all the master page elements will be placed on the page along with the existing altered items. Now you can choose which elements you wish to keep/delete. ( v 4.1 )
