how to make a section within a page

i have made a page that i want to use and i dont know how to make a certian part of it work.
the page has a section down one side with my buttons and a top section with just a title but i want a square section where all the content is loaded in once a button is clicked without the left and top section reloading. i have attached a link to a mock up of the site which i hope explains it better.

sorry,im pretty useless in dreamweaver.
if someone can point me to a tutorial maybe it would be appreciated.

you are after 'frames' or 'iframes'
before you jump on it...consider why NOT to use them:
