How would I go about making a RJ-48s cable. I have a wic-1dsu-56k card for my cisco 1720 router. I know that the RJ-45 jack is compatiable with the RJ-48s jack on the card. So with my RJ-45 cable how would I go about wiring it up for a RJ-48s.
You don't need to do anything to make a compatibale cable. A standard straight through patch cord with RJ-45 modular plugs on each end will work just fine. RJ-48 jacks have a shorting bar that creates a loopback when the patch cord is removed. This is a troubleshooting used by the service providerd to determine whether a problem is on the end users equipment of the telco side.
