how to make a page wait for link?

hi,
i have an asp page that links to another site after a button is pressed. the site take too long to render and display a message "if this messge lasts longer than 10 seconds, please press 'here' to load."
is there anyway to make my asp page wait for a while and display a message or something until the other site's page is rendered?
thanks.
