How to make a midline rule that extends to some text?

I am using FM 7.2 and I need to create a style where a solid mid-height rule extends across the text column and meets up with a piece of text. It would look like this:

---------------------------- filename


I've created this with a tab using a dash leader, but the printer says they can't guarantee it will print as a solid line.

Are there other ways to achieve this result using a solid rule?
