how to make a line item in a portal do a lookup?

I have a DB with Invoices that contains a portal to a DB with Line Items.

For each part number, there are two fields specific to that part which I'd like to automatically fill in. I have a part number database which contains records for each part number and values for the 2 specific fields filled in.

Each line item is a different part number, but I'm having trouble setting up the relationship to have the two specific fields come up automatically

You can only show the fields based upon the relationship from the portal....
In layout rightclick on your portal, specify portal and look which relationship it is...
Only fields based upon this relationship (and related file) can be showed into that portal....
