How do you apply a corner radius to an object once it has been drawn?

Firstly, if I had a rectangle on screen and then decided to apply a corner radius of a specific value - can this be done without having to draw a fresh corner radiused rectangle?

Secondly, if I had an angular shape which I had drawn with my pen tool (something like a star or a more abtsract, irregular shape, without curves), am I able to designate corner radius values? In the past, I've had to use the pathfinder tool - draw a circle or curve on the point and "divide".

Surely there is a better way?

If someone could answer this question, I would greatly appreciate it, as it has been bugging me for ages.

Thanks

Sure there is. Simply select your already drawn object then:

You can use Effect>Convert to shape>Rounded Rectangle, to specifically make an RR.

To round corners of other shapes go to Effect>Stylise>Round Corners.

Thanks once again, dimoj!

If you can answer my next question I'm going to post, I'll be very impressed!

A star for you!
