I'll soon have to take in consideration the multi access.
In fact i've got a unique database which will be used by 4 different sites. To be sure to keep the integrity of the data i'd like to put some locks on tables or on lines, colomns.
Is there someone to give me some ideas the assume that,
in resume how to put a lock

Thanks

Hello Stressman,

Even if you could put locks at will on database objects how would you know when to apply them. It sounds like a day-time job , first addressing people when they would access which source.

Secondly, locks are implicitly acquired by DB2. As far as my DBA documentation goes the default of isolation level is Cursor-stability. The row that is fetched is locked up untill the next commit/rollback.
The isolation level can be set during program preparation or binding an application. The default of Cursor Stability is considered adequate for most application. Higher isolation levels (Repeatable read, Read Stability) just hamper performance T. Blom
