Hi! I was wondering if anyone can assist in find the extension to dial by name speech recognition directory in AAM or how to set up the extension? Much appreciated!

On the storage server go to Messaging System (Storage) -> Sites. Then scroll down to the Auto Attendant section where you will see a box title Pilot Number.

Found it thanks! Gave you a Star * :)

Ok if I want to change this from a 4 digit to a 10 digit extension, I get The pilot number for Auto atttnedant does not match Short extension length for this site. How do I change this?
Also I only see one site selected out of 6 available. Can I move sites to selected with no impact? Thanks again!!!

You set the site dial plan Short Extension Length under the Site Internal Dial Plan section of the same page. As to adding sites I can't remember if that requires a restart of messaging or not but It's AAM and a restart after a major setting change is never a bad idea.

were you able to change from 4 to 10 without any issues?

@Ken No I have not. I think I need to create a new site as not to mess with production.

@Wanebo - Is creating an 'add new' site under storage as just as straight forward as adding new and then create SIP trunk to new site under 'Telephony domains'? or is there a gotcha somewhere in the middle.
My goal is to add all PBX in new site and create a 9 digit extension via the SIP trunk.

Are you trying to move all of the users into one site ? You can add the new site and use an existing telephony domain or create a new one but you will need tp move the users over and when you do that the mailbox number will need to be added back in. As it assumes you will change the mailbox number when you change sites. You can also add a secondary ext number to the box as well.

Move all users @ 12k plus?
Yes I will create new site and add all CM's to the new site.
How do I move ALL users? Are you talking about their mailboxes?

My plan is to use the new site as a dedicated auto attendant group for speech recognition and that's all.
I don't want to manage this new site, so if a new user gets a new mailbox the new site should be able to add them to directory without having a second/different mailbox number.

Can you explain the steps to adding a user in new site?
If this get over complicated or a risk then I would need special services. Do you think its more complicated than what I am posting?

It should work and it will not be hard to test. But if you need help let me know.

Ok I added new site successfully and added new 9 digit extension number to pilot number for auto attendant. I am now getting a wave off tone and a 488 not acceptable in SM trace.
Does AAM have a trace for routing table. I have not rebooted MAS server yet. Can you point me to logs in AAM?

Do you have a CM / SM that is sending the 9 digits ? And you should restart the service on the Application servers

Ok I resolved the issue and got it working. The error was 488 not acceptable here and the solution was to change my route to a trunk that AAM recognized as a far-end domain.
The trunk that I was going out of had attach a different domain that was not in AAM so it did not recognized. Once I routed to a trunk that had the correct domain AAM worked! Thank you KenMeans and Wanebo, you gave me the extra confidence I needed [bigsmile]
