Dear friends,
I want to load the data I have in one of my oracle tables to the table in teradata database. Do we have any concept like database link to get data? or how do we do this?

Thanks in advance,
Mukesh.

As far as I know, you got to extract the data from Oracle into a flat file and load data from the flat file to Teradata, unless you have an ETL tool like Informatica available.

Teradata has a Utility called OLE Mod that processes data between Oracle and TD. You need this utility and PC Fastload. OLE Mod creates the connections and extract and load scripts for moving the data. I believe both OLE Mod and PC Fastload are available from the Teradata demo disk.

We load data from Oracle to Teradata by exporting the data from Oracle to a file on the O/S, then using multiload to import into Teradata. I don't believe there is any way to connect to Teradata directly from within Oracle. There was a tool called the Oracle Trasparent Gateway, but I was told by NCR that they are no longer selling it.

Hi,
Talk to your NCR Sales team about getting

OLE-DB LOAD.

You point one side at Oracle and the other at teradata and it generates the required scripts and executes them to do the transfer.

You could point it at 2 Teradata boxes and transfer data that way as well.
