Hello

Need assistance, I have a Avaya Server S8300 running on 5.2.1, Software Version: R015x.02.1.016.4
I need to apply a Service Pack-18 to Integrated Voice Messaging. I know that in order to apply the Patch, I first have perfume a Back to the Messaging and then stop the Voice Service.

I can not see where can I load the Patch for Messaging, I went into the Server, got Miscellaneus, the Download Files and download the file. But whem I go back to Messaging and Select Software Management, take either List Software or Software Install, can see the file install in the CM Server.

Where do I install the Patch and run it !!!!!

Which are the steps

Thanks

This is off a document I have, what I would do is look in the /var/home/ftp/pub directory and see if the file you downloaded is there.

Downloading and installing patches for IA770 on S8300 from the craft login
• From select the RFU(s) and download to your desktop.
• When the technician arrives on-site, they will then connect their laptop to the S8300 (either direct connect with a cross over cable or via a PC on the customer's network).
• Once they have connected to the S8300 main web screen, they will then select " Download" under the " Miscellaneous" heading. Using the "Browse" button , they can browse their laptop/PC to find the RFU(s) they downloaded earlier.
• The technician must highlight and click the "Open" button to select the RFU(s) they want to upload.
• Then select the "Download" button at the bottom of the page. The RFU(s) will be uploaded into the /var/home/ftp/pub directory.
• To install from "Messaging Administration / Utilities / Software Management / Advanced Software Installation" select the RFU(s) to install.

Off hand, I can't remember but one thing that sticks out in my mind is that dadmin doesn't always have full messaging permissions in his profile to patch. Maybe there's an sa or vm account for the voicemail component that lets you patch.

Hence the first line of the instructions: Downloading and installing patches for IA770 on S8300 from the craft login

Hey mojo, didn't see we posted at the same time :)

I'm not sure if you can use craft on 5.2 for CMM or if if was some other messaging account so you could install voicemail patches
