Hi,
I used to have linux on my machine before my father installed windows over it (it has multiple partitions) and now the MBR is set to DOS only.
Now the only thing I have is the linux CDROM (6.1 Redhat - its a old spare computer to practice)
I can boot linux using it.. now when I type linux rescue at the boot prompt I can get to #bash prompt..
I can also mount my original linux file system by typing mount /dev/hda2 /mnt/tmp but when I run lilo in the /mnt/tmp/sbin directory it says it can't find the /dev/hda?
I looked in the /dev folder and there is nothing as /dev/hd* in it too? how can I restore the MBR to linux after booting via the CDROM? Any ideas?
Thanks,
san
P.S. Also fdisk /dev/hda doesn't work either.. :/
