I've been able to link between access and dbf files , but I cannot seem to concude how I update or add new records through the database forms (to automatically update the dbf's). The dbf files are from Arcview shape files, so we want to update shapes through accesss.
Can anyone help????????

Which version of Access? You may need to include the rec.update where rec is your linked .dbf file. You may want to check out an Access forum to get more info on working with recordsets. Good luck,

To update linked DBF files, you'll have to create SQL update statements in Access. A little cumbersome, but it works. You might want to look at importing the DBF data into an Access table rather than try to update the DBF files. I think you'll find that it'll be a lot cleaner. There's always a better way...
