I am very new to CR (version XI). I have created a report that will explode out bom's and list the bin location of each of the parts (bin info is pulled from a different database than everything else on the report). However, the report detail will list the part number as many times as there are receipts for the part. How can I get the report to not show these multiple lines? The bom will likely have these parts mult times depending on the assembly and sub-assebly...
Here is how it is printing:
Level Part # Description Unit QTY BINLOC
3***** HWLM1600ZPZ 5/8 LOCKWASHER PKG EA 24 03-C-09

3***** HCXH7962PZ 5/8 11X6 HX CAP G5 EA 24 03 C 24
3***** HCXH7962PZ 5/8 11X6 HX CAP G5 EA 24 YARD

3***** HCXH7962PZ 5/8 11X6 HX CAP G5 EA 24 03 C 24

3***** HWMN2203PS 1 14GA MACH BUSH EA 2 06 C 05

The part Number HCXH7962PZ should only be listed once here, but may be listed in another sub-assembly. It is listed three times because there are three receipts for this part number.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

YOu could try grouping report by Part number, and then moving you field from the details line into the part number group footer. Suppress details and part no group header.

YOu can not use stand summaries as you will count the part number you mention 3 times. Need to replace with running totals and set the evaluate on change of part number.

The report can actually be 14-20 pages long so if I group by part number the parts will not list under the appropriate assembly.
Given the above would the running totals still work?

If you have some field unique to an assembly, group on that and then insert a group on part number.

The parts are common to most assemblies...

Groups are nested, so that assuming you have separate parts records per assembly, you can group on assembly, and the related parts will appear with the appropriate assemblies.
