Quick question from a new MM Fireworks user:

Is Fireworks capable of or the appropriate tool to design and create large TRADE SHOW BANNERs. I need to design 3'x6', 4'x8', maybe 5'x10' banners for a couple wireless industry tradeshows. I'll need to email a .AI or .EPS file to vinyl banner printers.

If possible, please provide explanation on defining the canvas or image size to accommodate those large sizes. And what's the appropriate resolution?

Thanks in advance, Jim

PS Each time I try to define a canvas I get a limit at 33.33 inches at 300 pixles/inch or 10000 maximum. Is that the largest possible canvas?

It would appear that this is the limit of canvas Fireworks gives you- I got the same limitations.
I don't know if fireworks is the right tool for the job, most print designers I know use Corel Draw, Freehand, or the new Adobe product (name slips my mind- used to be pagemaker).
I have Freehand, and it allows you to create large custom sized print quality documents.
It might be an idea to find out what kind of format the printers need the file in though, as the size you have to save as might be quite large, and all the printers I know locally, specialise in using one but not all programmes- with no one I know using Freehand, although most printers can print from a jpeg ok.

Sometimes, when my code just won't behave, I take it outside and make it listen to britney spears music, and when it comes back it's really well behaved. I wonder if it's suffering from post tramatic stress syndrome now..
