does anyone know how to get the version of c-isam installed? the box is running on aix 4.2.0.0. i know ishould have use c-isam's utility to do it but i don't have documents about c-isam and know nothing about it.

i'm hoping somebody knows c-isam and could help me with this.

Just throwing this out there for what it's worth. I don't know c-isam but I know with other software (particularly binaries) I can issue:

- what </full/path/to/binary_name>

and it will give me the release and build information. Maybe this could help?

Anybody have any other suggestions? Regards,
Chuck

C-ISAM is a collection of C library routines for ISAM. AIX 4.2 and 4.2.1 both had C-ISAM 5.1x and C-ISAM 7.24 support. I am not sure of the release dates for 7.24. I haven't worked with ISAM on AIX for over 5 years, however, you may try:

`lslpp -L | grep -i isam`

and see if it returns anything. Other than that is would have to be 5.1x or 7.24, but don't know which it would be.
