Hi all,

How can I know the process job is no respond when I type ps -ef in Unix or Linux.

Thanks.

Don't understand the "no respond" part of your question. Can you elaborate. (Perhaps it is me, but I've been working on Unix since the mid 80s version 7 days and I don't get your question).

Do you mean the process has become a 'zombie'? IF that's the case it will probably be owned by init, uid 1.

I want to be good, is that not enough?

The other reason is waiting on device.

pstack or ps -el

I think PRI is negative when waiting on I/O.

WCHAN will tell you what it is waiting for.
