How to know the File System in External or Internal Hard Disk?

Could you please explain how to know the File System reside on Extenal or Internal Hard Disk?....

You can check from vftab file for see what's filesystem mount on your internal harddisk.If you didn't use network filesystem (NFS) how can you see external filesystem.
Or you used external storage like A1000 from Sun.
You can check from raid manager when you used it.
You also can use format command for checking your harddisk internal or external from your SUN server.
