Hi guys, I just inhereted a pc from someones garage after a cleaning. After not giving it much of a look i have suddenly realized that it has a 2 gig celeron processor. Not bad. But the motherboard is totally dead. The only other pc in my house is an AMD, and all my friends have either AMD or laptops. Is there any way I can see if the cpu actually works without having a compatible motherboard?

Cheers.

Also look very carefully at the pins on the cpu. Make sure that none of them are bent or broken. The pins are very delicate and if one is bent you probably couldn't get it straightened without it breaking. But all in all if all the pins are in great shape, chances are it is good. But it still wouldn't hurt to have it tested.
