Is there a way to kill or end the wuauclt.exe process? After the computer has been updated, this Restart Now popup kept coming up to have the user restart the computer and I do not want to restart at the moment. How do I kill this process so it does not popup again?

That's a Windows process that checks for updates ...

Cheers,
Dian

Check first that the process is from c:\windows\system32, otherwise it can be some kind of malware.

Cheers,
Dian

Many thanks for the help. The problem is the policy to enforce windows upate is from the domain server and we can't change the local policy. We don't want to stop the windows automatic update service. All I'm looking for is a way to have the popup to top popping up and quick bother the user for a least 3 to 4 hours.

You can disable the automatic reboot after updates are installed too. Windows will reboot the computer wheather you like or not after awhile if its left on. There is a setting in the local policy for it. I cant remember what it is off hand though.

The local policy will only work if it is not joined to a domain that enforce the policy from the DC.
