I started a long query from my oracle client. Then it keeps running and won't come back, I want to kill it but seems no way, any idea? Thanks

If still in SqlPlus just use the File..Cancel ( if it is returning records)..

Otherwise go into the Enterprise Manager ( or some other DBA tool) and Kill the session..

Maswein,

I agree with Turkbear. Additionally, I try a [ctrl-C] (with a light seasoning of [ctrl-D]), and if that doesn't work, I liberally sprinkle with the 'X' in the upper right corner of your Window...It's usually faster to do that and to re-connect to Oracle than to wait for a "interminable" query to finish.

Too bad that Oracle hasn't created a [Cancel Query] button...like, how hard is that?
