My site will have a new URL. The old URL has over 1100 sites linked to it and is well ranked by the search engines. Is there a way to keep all that while changing for a new URL?

Hi mate,

The options you have are as follows:

1) Contact each person and ask them to change the link. LOL
2) If you have access to the server config, then redirect all requests to the new URL of the page requested.
3) Add a redirect on the new pages to take the user to the new URL of the site.

When you say that you are changing the URL, are you still going to keep the old one? If so then you could keep an index page on that server and change all the links to take you to the secondary pages at the new URL.

Hope this helps Wullie
