Good Day,

I work at a restaurant where management has made the decision to remove the "repeat item" button altogether to avoid allowing happy hour items from being repeated after happy hour has end(on Micros). Do any of you wonderful gurus know if there is a way to keep happy hour items from being repeated after happy hour at the the happy hour price, a way to keep HH items from being repeated whilst allowing all other items to be repeated, make HH item buttons only be available during HH, or some other creative way to solve this issue and get the "repeat button" back into you use?? Oh, how I miss the "repeat item" button so!

Thank you for your time!!

HH=Happy Hour

I have a button that I show on my table layout screen only, I removed this button after 10am and then I put it back again at 6am the next morning, so the button is only visible for those 4 hours in the morning.

To do this I am running an import script of the whole table layout screen at 6am. (the txt file I'm importing is fixed and has the button I require on it)
Then at 9am again I run an export of that screen as a backup.
Then at 10am I run a delete script of only that button I need to have removed.

Not sure on how many screens you have this repeat button, if it is only on the function screen then this is maybe something to do?

Depending on the version of micros you are running. You can setup Main level items with a time range of say 5pm to 9pm. SO the item isn't allowed to be sold before or after those times.

Menu levels were meant for stuff like this, and are definitely the best way to handle it.

I do some crazy scripting, but wow!
Wouldn't it be easier to run a script that updated the functionality of that button instead of replacing the screen(s) twice a day?

It sounds like the HH level is defaulting back to regular price level, instead of programming a regular price level. Subtle difference, but different non the less. I would try programming levels for all 24 hours of the day, and all 7 days of the week (without having a level cross the end of day). This might help, but I have not tried this.

Removing access to the button will not help and if I wanted a button to appear and disappear, I would use smart keys.
