I have a IE5 Temporary Internet files directory that subdivizes into 12 sub directories each containing duplicatas of files. How can I have the IE5 Temporary Internet Files in only one directory? Thanks for help.

You can delete those folders any time you want to, they will not harm IE. Basically Temporary Files are what you see on a web page. For example each image, each .html file, is downloaded and placed on your hard drive in the c:\windows\Temporary Internet Files\ folder. When you get multiple folders it is a good time to clean out this folder. It creates the folders because there is an existing file that matches the name of one you are trying to download.

Go
tools->Internet Options->Genereal->Temporary Internet Files->Delete Files.

How and Why are folders with random names created under the "Content.ie5" folder within the "Temporary Internet Files" folder?
