how to justify using illustrator?

I'm a newbie ere.. i do have some problem here where i dunno how to justify my text using illustrator.. can someone pls help me..

OK - in your text box palette under "Paragraph" there are several boxes at the top which give you left justified, right justified etc.

The left justified box looks a bit like this:

Just click on the box you need.

im trying to make a book using AI.
i made two pages in AI and wrote a whole paragraph of words. i want the paragraphs to be justified in page 1.

I tried your, it doesnt seem to work.

That's not called aligning. That's called justifying. Thats what you asked how to do and thats exactly what junglist explained how to do.

There are more justify options in the paragraph palette than l,r or c..have you tried them all?

Ok, Illy does call them L,R and C 'Align'! My bad. The other options are in the paragraph palette are 'justify'...thats probably what you are after!

How are you creating your text? Do you just click once and type? That would cause what you describe, because Illustrator won't know what point it should justify against. Instead, using the text tool, click and drag until you have a rectangle that represents the bounds of your text. Now the justify tool should work as described above.
