Has anyone managed to use the CR 8.5 and CE 8 activex viewer in a asp.net web? My asp.net web gathers users selections and returns a recordset from a business object which it attaches to report. The application, report and PageEngine objects are saved in session variables as before. Controll then passes to SmartViewer.asp. The report viewer is displayed but no report. One posibility is the asp.net session object is not the same as the asp session. Can anyone confim this?

We looked at CR 9 and 10 and were totally disappointed with the performance of the RAS. It looks like when a report is either printed or exported the report is being run again. I could not get this confirmed by CR support. If this is really the case then CR 9 or 10 will never be as fast as CR 8.5. It was taking over a minute just for the export or printer dialog boxes to appear.
We have opted for the time being to stick with CR 8.5 and CE 8.

On another note..i could have sworn i saw a link to dot net assemblies for CR 8.5 and CE 8.5 on the crystal web site. I can no longer find them!!
Tks

On the topic of session it is tru that ASP and ASP.Net do not share session state. I am not using RAS but use the RDC in an ASPX app. Had to abandon the active X viewer however.
