WordPerfect runs properly in Windows Xp professional and home edition if you just follow a few simple steps.

1. Copy the installation folder from your CD to your local harddrive.
2. Change the compatibility mode on every *.exe in the folder, there are a lot. (I wasn't sure if you needed to change all of them but it can't hurt and it does work this way). Right click the *.exe and select properties, click the Copatibility tab, check mark: Run this program in compatibility mode for: (and choose) Windows NT4.0 (Service Pack 5), click OK. Repeat this process for each executable.
3. Run c:\appman\setup\setup.exe - when it is completed, reboot.

4. Then go to START\Corel WordPerfect Suite 8\Corel WordPerfect 8\ right click it and change the compatibility to Windows NT 4.0.

Now Run it, you can also apply WP8SP7 the same way.

Good Luck

Would you suggest that a WP9 install would work the same way in WinXP?

Thanks,
Tom

Does wp9 and wp10 install in windowsxp following simple steps to install wp8? Please advise. Newuser

Which folder on the WP8 CD is the installation folder? I'm assuming - correctly, I hope - that the Corel folder is the one to copy. There is no folder or subfolder called installation folder.

WordPerfect9 should be installed the same way as for version 10, it is xp compatible.

As for printing problems in WP8, I have had the same problem but it is easily resolved, just elevate the users privileges to power user, they will then be able to print.

I have the same problem and shall be grateful if you could tell me the name of the Directory which should be copied to the C: drive as there does not seem to be one named 'install' on the CD. Do any sub directories also need copying?
