how to install win2000 server over WinXP pro?

HI,
I want to install Win2000 server on WinXP professional(WANT TO CREATE DUAL BOOTUP). i had different DOS partitions with NTFS file system and when i wanted to install win2000 server from bootup, it's throwing a error message"setup file can not be run in DOSmode" .i want to know step wise procedure to install win2000server from bootup windows2000 server CD. any help will be appreciated.

thanks for your reply. the problem is when i tried to boot from Win2000 server bootup CD, it's is taking me to DOS mode instead of setup mode and when i tried to install from WINXP, it's not allowing me to do. so what i got to do inorder to avoid going into DOS mode and pickup installation mode?to do the things which you had given here,i should be able to install WIn2000 server first on another partition without deleting the contents on the remaining two partitions(i'm not installing the win2000 server in these partitions), where i had saved my info.the installation of win2000 was tried to be done on separate NTFS partition.please advise.
