What steps do i need to install and test Exchange 2000 at home ??
I have roadrunner as my ISP, but no static IP.

Is there some particular steps to install/setup ??
I do have enough machines to use and the OS needed.

Thanks for any help ?

First you need a donaim name setup.
Set your alias' and mx records to your ip.

you can set it up for internal use/testing without domain name/static IP, You will need active directory running though. 01110000

anything else w/out needing domain name/static ip ??

"anything else w/out needing domain name/static ip ??"

ummm, you want to use Exchange for email right? You want "me@mydomian.com" right? ...better register a domain

You will also need to subscribe to a dynamic DNS service, like or for example. These services will monitor your network for when or if your IP changes and automatically update the record on their DNS servers.

You can register your own domain name at
Keep in mind that your ISP might block some well known ports, like 80, to prevent you from running Web servers, for example.
