I need to replace the OS on an old Windows Compaq Proliant 1500 Pentium machine and install SCO 5.0.5 on it. After installing SCO, I need to create 11 raw partitions to be used as chunks for the dbspaces for Informix 7.31. I'm not very good in SCO or UNIX installation but I know my way around Informix. How do I install SCO on this server and create the raw partitions on it? I know that the partitions for Informix cannot be more than 2 GB each. The machine currently has a 30 GB disk. Thanks.

use mkdev hd to create/add the hard drives depending on the lay out you can use mkdev hd again to partition the whole disk or if you want many logical partitions use divvy.
You may want 4 logical partitions 3x8 gig 1x6 gig and have 4 divisions in each partition to be square, this will give around 13 2 gig partitions with a bit of space left over on the last disk
Divvy is a command and goes like this:

divvy -m /dev/dsk/0s1 (0 for root disk, slice, 1st slice for your logical partition 0s1, dont use it for the root unless you know what your doing)
This will bring up a table simlar to fdisk.
When creating the divisions in the table that comes up(with in the logical partition) make sure you use No fs for the filesystem when creating divisions (chunks used by informix).
